3rd Gear returns to NetNomads on Friday, Sept. 12 at 8 PM for two sets of classic rock, blues, and R&B. We took a short summer hiatus, and now we're rockin' harder than ever.

So come on down, quaff a few lattes and then dance off your caffeine buzz to the sounds of stripped down rock & roll (like it oughta be).

Voices.
Guitars.
Bass.
Drums.
That's All.

Waiting for an all-day Jitney, or some better way we all can get around to see 3rd Gear ... Hey, do you guys do "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash!?

NC,
NetNomads will still be at 99 Baker St. on Sept. 12. I hope you can come out.

Mr. Artie,
Don't do "Ring Of Fire," but I'm trying to get my bandmates to agree to do the equally incendiary "(hunka hunka) Burning Love."

Mr. Ben Wah,
Yes, we are no Big Train, but let's face it, who else is?

Guys, don't make me freeze name editing. You wouldn't want to be caught in a permanent state of "Not Chris Dickson, but I play him on TV" do you? :-)

Great rehearsal last night. The guys are primed, ready, and itching to play again after taking the summer off.

Come on out to NetNomads at 8 on Sept 12 and be ready to rock!

Did I mention that it's no cover?

Did I mention that Ed May will be there?

Did I mention the rave review from Hank Zona?

HEY GEAR HEADS....

Yeah, that means YOU! Come to Net Nomads September 12 - that's this Friday - to hear 3rd Gear rock the house. It's true, we're not a big logistical nightmare of a train - just two guitars, bass, and drums. Rock on.

Dear Chasm:

Please cease and desist the use of the words "Big" and/or "Train" in any of 3rd Gear's marketing material.

Cordially,

PS. We hope to see y'all Saturday night at O'Reilly's. No cover. No minimum. No lines at 5:30. Good beer. Good music. Gonna have a funky good time ...

8-10pm Net Nomads FRIDAY September 12th.

As long as it's constant publicity!

Hey Big Trainers - don't sue me, I'm just the guitar player. Ooops, I used BIG and TRAIN in my post. Ooops did it again -

ANYWAY - GEARHEADS UNITE! Slushpuppys welcome! The "band who shall be nameless" is welcome as well. After all this, I hope we don't suck.

3rd Gear rocked NetNomads for two solid blistering hours tonight! What a show! You could hear the vibes from Maplewood Avenue to Ridgewood Avenue. People were flooding out the back and front doors. Mark practically chopped his guitar in half as he sweated up a storm. Chuck also got quite a workout on his guitar. The other guitarist and the drummer also pulsed out the music. The audience, especially the kids, really got into it. Probably the largest crowd ever at the old NetNomads. 3rd Gear is my favorite group, at least until Big Train hits O'Reilly's Saturday Night.

Gearheads: Sorry we missed you last night, but it sounds like a good time was had by all ...

Thank you Ed for your glowing review! I think we're going to have to quote you on our flyers from now on.

And thanks to Deanne at NetNomads and everyone who came out last night. We had a great time, knocked off the summer's rust, and we're looking forward to playing in the new space when it opens.

(and I guess I was hitting the strings a little harder than usual last night, because I feel like I have a case of tennis elbow this morning...)
