UPDATE. Tickets for tomorrow night's Last Battle of the Basement Bands are scarcer than hen's teeth. If I'm lying, I'm dying . . . We delivered ten more to the Concierge today, but, once the Concierge exhausts their supply (<20??), "That's all, folks!" Even the participating bands are scrambling for tickets. That being said, we are not planning on having any tickets available at the door tomorrow night. This may change based on how many unsold tickets at the Concierge tonight. My sense is there will only be a few, if any, left. I will post an update tonight. It is going to be a great night and we apologize in advance to anyone who gets shut-out.

Thanks to everyone who has supported this event! Battle of the Bands will have raised more than $20,000 in three years for Habitat for Humanity. Doors open at 7:00. First band starts at 7:30 - SHARP. Don't forget to enter our raffle to win two airline tickets anywhere in the continental US. Raffle tickets are only $10 and this is a great prize. We are also giving away a real nice four-pack of NJ DEVILS tickets just before the first band starts. Get there early!

This is going to be fun . . .

As requested by my nemisis, the arch-villian and leader of some big train, there will be a CD give-away at the Battle of the Bands, held this Saturday night at Our Lady of Sorrows in South Orange. We've got a selection of about 25 CD's by various artist including:
Barbara Streisand
Billy Joel
Korn
Pink Floyd
John Mellencamp
Keb Mo
and many others

Get there early as it will be a swell night for all.
Back to you, oh evil one.....

Let's play Battle of the Bands trivia ...

Who was the first band to take the stage at the first Battle of the Bands?

Name the four bands that played at the first Battle of the Basement Bands.

The official food of the Battle of the Bands is __________________.

The offical beverage of the Battle of the Bands is ___________________.

Who MC'ed last year's event?

Who was the Applause-O-Meter girl last year?

What is the song the bands traditionally jam on at the end of the night?

Moose's quote is from a Johnny Thunders song (which I *think* was a remake of an old 50's era tune but I liked Johnny's version better).

I was an MC last year, but wasn't invited back. Chris said it was something about slam dancing....

And I sure hope you have a new Applause-O-Meter person!

Jerry, are volunteering to be the Applause-O-Meter person (PC?)? Moose loves that Johhny Thunders, so you might be right.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but, sad to say, last year's Applause-OH-Meter technician (I am trying to follow Jerry's PC lead) will not be returning. Rippin' Rupert of the Newark Bears will be back though!
