Just moved here and this is all very new to us... Can anyone recommend a contractor to replace a really old oil furnace and possibly side vent it or reline our chimney? We're also toying with the idea of just converting to gas. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks. |

I know Petro -- our oil supplier has been sending out mailings on new furnaces. Their # is 800-oil-heat. |

Are you sure you're looking for a furnace and not a boiler. A furnace provides hot air whereas a boiler provides hot water or steam for home heating. Still not sure? Do you have radiators and pipes or vents and ducts? As far as converting to gas, it has its advantages but is not for everyone. Master_Plvmber

Nope, it's a furnace. We're talking about a very old system. We have vents in the floor and it's basically gravity fed (no ducts). We're considering putting in baseboards eventually. Shou

Before you think about gas. Check out this very informative web site on oil heat @ www.oilheatamerica.com It is always best to get a price from your current supplier first unless you are unhappy with them. If Petro is not your cup of tea we have been in Maplewood for 80 years and install Thermopride furnaces. www.woolleyfuel.com |
