Any recommendations for storm window vendors for storms that will be installed for leaded windows.

Thanks.

Careful on this! I recently saw a "This Old House" episode (or it could have been Bob Villa on his new show!) that showed the horrors of tampering with old construction.

One the most painful to see were these (formerly) gorgeous lead windows at the landing of a staircase that had storm windows put over them on the outside.

The effect of these was that when the sun came through -- there was such a build up of heat, that the windows literally melted.

The conservator looking at the mess said that it should not be done.

A thoroughly uneducated thought from me -- could storms be more safely installed inside?

Good luck!

Pete
