Okay, so I'm not the greatest at this stuff, and I confess I can't download or even view the 'obscene amount of data' (as it was described last night) in ex-major Ryan's Excel file. I am desperate to discover if my area has been granted a lower 'neighborhood charge' (in addition to individual reductions), but when I click on the link, I get gibberish. What am I doing wrong? If any of you cybercrats can give a clue to the clueless, I'd be grateful. |

Mim - I got the same gibberish when I tried to download from the site but if you have Jerry email it to you as a file it should work ok. Send him an email at revalinfo070402aol.com and ask him to send it to you. Then you can look up your address. |

I had the same problem with Netscape, but then tried using Internet Explorer to retrieve it without problem. |

Mim - Try right clicking the link and then clicking Save As. |

Right click (or for the Mac users among us, click and hold) and do a "Save Link as..". I can't email it; 80% of the first 20 I mailed out got rejected by mailers because of the size of the file. And if anyone is enough of an html whiz to explain to ma how to make a click automatically initiate a download, I'd sure appreciate you telling me :-) |

No go. I am hopeless, I suppose (or my equipment is). I guess I'll just be trekking down to the bibliotheque next week to check it out. Thanks for all your help, however. |

Where is the file? A web site? |

Well, I've tried everything and still cannot access the reval database. As I understand from the hand-out disseminated last night, one can go over to the Municipal Building or to any of the Libraries to view it. While I appreciate this effort to place public copies in these locations, it may be logistically difficult for some residents to get to these locations during business hours to do this. Not to mention having time to make comparisons and take detailed notes, if they need to (relative to where they are in their particular reval process). May I suggest, perhaps, that a copy also be supplied to a representative of each of the various neighborhood and block associations in town? This way, people can take turns individually reviewing the document in the privacy and quiet of their own home, much as those people who have been savvy enough to download it. |

Maybe it is an Office 2000 document and you have an earlier version of Office? |
