This uses small tubes instead of traditional duct work with the obvious benefits in our old houses. One reported downside is a "whooshing" noise that some report, due to smaller diameter space that air is forced through--I really want to talk to folks who have this kind of C/A to get their real world impressions. Many thanks and be cool, all. David Buckley |

I believe this is the type of system I am considering...is it a split system with a unit in the attic and one outside the house? My concern is the size of the tubing and the number of vents won't keep the house cool enough.

We have the Unico system, which is high velocity, and we love it. It was the only option that made sense for our old, duct work-free house. It keeps the house cool, it's efficient, and it's not loud. |

As I posted under a different CAC thread, we too have the Unico system. There is the slightest sound of rushing air from the vents. I would consider it barely noticeable. I have been in homes with conventional ducts and registers, and personally, I think they're louder. |
