Does anyone know if the space next to Cafe Arugula is a restaurant and if so if it is any goo? I have heard it is a gallery/restaurant but I don't know anyone who has eaten there and I don't see menus in the window.

Whatever that place is, it has a serious marketing problem. It looks really nice and I've seen tables one time, artwork another time, a jazz ensemble setting up another time. Seems like a cafe/art/jazz place, but I have no idea what its name is. And it's almost never opened and doesn't, to my knowledge, post hours.

I noticed it for the first time last Friday night. I peeked in and it looked like an art gallery to me.

I think the place is called Gallery 61. It started as an art gallery/bookstore and one could pay their cable bill there. The bookstore section has been closed. The space can be rented for parties, the space is quite nice actually. I attended a bridal shower there last year. I have also attended a jazz night sort of thing and a poetry slam there. The owner, whose names escapes me at the moment, is a nice guy.

Jesse: Congratulations on opening the new restaurant. What is the name? You might want to make a seperate thread to announce it.

greeneyes,

His name is Bernard Jackson. The space is largely his working studio which as you say
he occasionally rents out for parties. He was at one time planning to make it a full time
restaurant but apparently changed his mind.
