We are trying to get rid of an old sofa with a nice slipcover, a bed, and a dresser. The Vietname Veterans pickup service said they can't get large sofa or matresses. Does anyone know of any other services in the area that can pick up these items? At this point, I don't even care if we get a receipt for taxes. Thanks. |

Goodwill won't pick up either. I called the Salvation Army when I needed to get rid of some of my late mother's furniture from her apartment in New York. They came on time, and they were nice guys, but I was amazed at how picky they are about what they'll take. If it isn't in really good condition, they won't take it. And, for some reason, they told me they "don't take desks." |

Try the National Council of Jewish Women. Their number for free furniture pick up is 973 673-6259. |

Well, maybe it's only in New York that they don't take desks. |
