I have two dining room arm chairs that are desperate to be recaned. Does anyone know who does this? And how much can I expect to pay?

Thanks

I had this done a few years ago in NYC and it was $90 for one chair. It might be cheaper in our area. I think European Experts on Valley St. may be able to do this. I think the owner's name is Joe Cellitti and the phone number is 973-763-4294.

I know this may sound odd, but I thought I once saw a sign on someone's front lawn -- on Vauxhall Road, near the Drug Fair. My apologies for not being able to offer any additional info.

I was going to post the same exact thing as pmart yesterday, but didn't because i didn't think it would be helpful enough. I could swear i saw a sign on someone's front lawn - perhaps on Vauxhall - just this past weekend.

The fact that there are two of us makes me a little more confident that i wasn't making it up.

I've seen the same sign. The house is on the right as you head from Valley towards Springfield, a little closer to Valley I believe. (I keep thinking I should check it out since I also have some chairs to be caned!)

It's the house on Vauxhall in between Valley and Springfield, on the same side as the Jiffy Lube, before those Garden apts. The yard is sort of triangular shaped—I believe the house is on the side street that intersects w/ Vauxhall Rd., but I don't know the name of the street. (Arcadia maybe?)

The little gifty/antique shop "The Bee and Thistle" on Baker in the Village does caning.
(I think they actually send it out but it is still reasonable)

I was just on Ken Pettis' Furniture Medic web site, and I believe he will also send out chair caning projects. His website is listed in the business directory of MOL.
