Bacata: The prices and dates come from, I believe, the County Register of Deeds and Mortgages. If I am not mistaken they are manually entered. If you have found a mistake in that data, pass it on to me at revalinfo07040@aol.com. Also I find no house on Orchard that was over 800K. The highest appraisal on Orchard is $227.7K |

Nicky: your message/question didn't get me excited :-) I really don't know if we reached a ceiling. There's a lot of variables in what makes someone choose a house... or choose to participate in a bidding war. |

Jerry - About the 800K house on Orchard - She's right, the database from Certified which you provided online shows a sale on Orchard for 834,000, in February of 1998. Must have been someone who really liked those gates! |

Ah, sorry, I was looking at the new assessment column, not the sale price column. That sale price must be a transcription error. |

Jerry- I think I must have uncovered another problem with CV- according to you, there is no house on Curtiss assessed at $750,800.00, but I have, in my hand, the letter from CV which states that they.."intend to report your property's October 1,200 fair market value for assessing purposes as: $ 750,800.00!! By the way, the only "improvement" made to the house in 1999 was to change the outside paint color! Your explanation please?? |

My explanation is that you have incorrect information in your hand. Again: I am not an assessor. Had you tried to meet with CV? Have you applied to meet with the assessor? |

Aruba- go get your new "card" down at town hall. Your street probably got a blanket decrease. |

Jerry-Yes, I applied to meet with CV on several occasions. Each time I was told by Diane that since I live in Maplewood that their schedule was full and they weren't scheduling any more appointments. (This happened on three separate occasions.) When I inquired as to why, I was told that they are "tired of dealing with people from Maplewood and that she (Diane) is sorry that they ever took the job!! Great PR!! I then called the Tax Assessor's office, and was told that he is not scheduling more appointments at this time, and to try back next week. Incidentally, I called CV last week to ask if I could fax my request for the property card, and I was told, by someone other than Diane but refused to repeat her name, that ALL papers, letters, property card, etc., have been turned over to Maplewood and that they are not accepting any further communications from those who live in Maplewood. So, you are correct-I did not have the "privilege" of meeting with anyone from CV, but then again, our own tax assessor is apparently making himself just as scarce! Suggestions? |

Aruba, I had no trouble picking up my property card at the town hall assessor's office, which also has information about filing an appeal. I doubt you'll have any trouble either. |

Aruba, just go to town hall anyday before 4:30 and spend 90 seconds to ask and wait for them to print it for you. |

Call before you go to town hall. I was there this morning and their computer was down. The ladies were nice enough to offer to mail it to me as soon as the system is back up. |

Dave, aren't Papa's comments considered a personal attack on Jerry, even if he is a public official? |

I started thinking Gerry was crazy when he picked "the Giants in five" as his Super Bowl pick. Any knowledgeable football fan could have told you the Ravens would win in a sweep. |

I am still trying to figure out what Papa means when he says the town is gone. I have not seen nor noticed that there are any for sale signs and according to a local realtor sales are still pretty good. He said the reval has had a minimal affect. |
