Has anyone in the "hit zones" obtained an appraisal from another company to see how close CV really is to fair market value? |

I have a neighbor whose house was recently appraised by the bank for 280K and Certified appraised it originally for 550K and then 440K. A friend on a street off Woodland was appraised by Certificed at 660K. An appraiser she hired found that they were off by 1000 sq. feet. Don't know the second company's appraisal yet. |

Considering the amounts of money involved here does anyone know if any apprasers are willing to get involved? Especially going before the Tax Board at an appeal. The phone book lists a number of appraisers, but if I was in that business I am not sure I would want to get involved. |

South Mountain Appraisers - ask for Evan Berke - they're on Vose avenue in S.O. -- they specialize in assessment appeals - I got the name from the FairTax e-mail a few weeks ago. They've been helpful and unbiased. |
