The property listing books with the revised values are now available for review at Maplewood town hall, the main branch of the library on Baker Street, and the Hilton branch of the library on Springfield Ave. The books are listed in block and lot number. I suggest that you have those numbers when you check out any properties.

The Township also has all the property record card data at town hall. You can stop by or contact town hall and get a copy of your property card.

As we announced the other night, we are scheduling reviews with the Assessor's office. You can write explaining your concern with the assessment or fill out an Assessment Review Form. On another posting I have put up that form. We have hired four part time assessors to assist Mr. Galante with the appointments. We are starting them on Monday night.

Thanks to Township Committeeman Jerry Ryan, we are putting up the numbers from Certified's data as soon as possible. Those numbers are on another conversation thread.

Mayor De Luca or Jerry Ryan:

I am trying to keep on top of this procedure...please bear with me...

I am going to fill out the Assessment Review Form and attach supporting documentation. I understand that this must be received by the TA by Feb. 14th.

However, I am unclear as to whether (a) I call to request a meeting with the TA and bring my paperwork (the above post references appointments with Mr. Galante and P/T TAs), OR (b) I am to mail him my paperwork with no face-to-face meeting and discussion, AND why would anyone do (b) instead of (a)??? Please advise. I am so confused, my hair hurts. Thanks.

Mail or drop off the materials. The team of assessors will review all letters and supporting documents and determine if a meeting and/or a change in the value of your house is warranted.
