Ok, so here's the deal, a previous owner apparently had 2 tenants (3 bedrooms 1 full bath - must have be cozy!) and decided to create more car space by putting gravel down in a large shaded section of the back yard. The gravel looks awful and is slowly spreading into the lawn which is great for my lawnmower blade. I want to create a "naturalized" shade garden in the spot. The problem? How do I get rid of the gravel?!? Any thoghts? Anyone have a need for gravel? I've got plenty to spare! |

A friend dug out a large area of his yard for a brick patio. He had a very large pile of dirt when he finished. He got rid of it by putting one shovel full in each garbage bag. It only took him about two years to get rid of it all!! ps: This is probably illegal so don't take this as a suggestion for doing this. I took out an old blacktop path in our yard a couple of years ago. I bagged the remains (broked up blacktop and gravel base) and put them out on bulk pickup day and the guys took all the bags, save the one that broke. There was a lot. It took nearly 40 bags of top soil to level out the area where the path was. |

It might be easier to build up, by framing it and filling with top soil. |
