I have a very small toaster and mirror that the garbage men refuse to throw away. They take them out of the trash bags like I'm a criminal. How else am I supposed to throw away my garbage? I live in S. Orange. I know I could wait for a container day, but I don't like looking at garbage. How does this work here? |

It seems silly to have to call for a special pick-up.. I mean you're talking about a toaster, not a fridge... but if the garbagemen won't take it, you may have to. Call the town hall and see what they say.

Wake up early. Take the bag of trash to the curb and hand the guy five bucks for his trouble. If the mirror is big try ten. |

Take it to West Orange on a Thursday night (weekly bulk trash pick-up in WO) and leave the toaster and mirror tucked into some big WO bulk trash pile. This method is for emergency use only. |

Bulk pick-up is still happening around town. -Check the schedule on the town website: http://www.twp.maplewood.nj.us/ -It wouldn't be the first time that folks, (including me) have discovered strange new items mysteriously added to what they were throwing out. - sort-of a local sport, (although I think that most of the items are from "pickers" who have changed their mind). |
