I have seen threads before on this subject , so now it's my turn. I have a squirrel in my in my chimney , behind my glass doors. Any suggestions on chimney repair and whom to call to ge rid of him. |

First try calling whichever town you live in...hopefully animal control can help you, without the high fees of outside companies. Be glad you have the glass doors...we didn't! |

Sounds like you need a cap. This happened to me once and I got a good pair of gloves and grabed him. Good luck. Michael K. Mc Kell

By the time we got the squirrels out of our fireplace they were dead, dry and stiff. The damper prevented their access into our living room. However the damper was useless in preventing big, butt-ugly flies from entering our house. Short answer; a chimney cap does the job. We used the Village Sweep and were very pleased. |

Get a rope, tie a weight to the end, and lower it down the chimney (if you feel qualified to climb on the roof). Squirrel will extricate itself. |

If you have kids, tell them you'll give five bucks to the one who can catch and release him...Worked for my mother when we had wildlife enter through the chimney. Of course, it was much harder when the cats got into the act |
