Can someone recommend a carpet store they have used? I am most concerned about proper installation. Thanks!

We used Home Depot, believe it or not, to install basic berber carpet in our kid's playroom and in a finished basement. They did an excellent job -- it was prompt, thorough, and fast (one day for a very large area including two sets of stairs). Best of all, I don't think it was too expensive. You just go to HD and sit down with a sales guy at the little desk in the carpet dept.

We used Expo and they were pretty good and they even came back to fix a small problem right away.

I second the Home Depot recommendation. We've used them twice (basement and attic) and were very happy with the results.

We have used P and J Carpet on Morris Ave in Union numerous times through the years. It is owner operated. June sells the carpet and her husband Phil installs it. Their prices have consistently been among the lowest and each installation has been perfect.

I used P and J for the flooring in my kitchen and was very pleased with their pricing and service. However, it is not upscale, if that's what you're looking for.

We used Bynderian Carpet in Montclair and got first class service and installation. Probably not the cheapest way to go, but we were able to deal with the knowledgeable owner (Bob Bynderian, somewhat abrasive personality but a very decent guy) of a smaller store.

We've used m&m carpet on springfield several times with good results.
