I just spoke to a clerk at the building office in Maplewood town hall who told me that there is no height restriction on hedges along the front of my property. Only restrictions on fences. Can anyone confirm?

If you don't trust the clerk in the building dept, why don't you just call Mittemeier

I think that is true, with the exception of corner lots where traffic visibility rules take precedence, so if that's an issue you should double check and get specifics for your situation.
