Just to add another facet to this never-ending process:

This morning I tried to drop-off my written request for my individual property re-evaluation request. Per the requirement it has supporting documentation, floor plans and the like. I was able to get it into a business envelope, though fat.

I work out of the Township, hours that do not allow me to drop in during Township business hours. Mail was and option, however, after the work I put into this I wanted to get into the Townships hands today.

I found that we do not have a drop-off slot or box at Town Hall. I also found that the doors to the Town Hall have a nice job of weather seals and I could not push the envelope under the door.

I went to the Train station. The Concierges desk told me that they could not take the envelope, however, the Township did have a drop-box on the wall.

Well, I found the drop-box, but it is not easy to put a business envelope into it. I had to Fold it, then Mold it, then Bow it, and finally with the help of a pocket comb I got it in.

Seems that everything related to this Reval is a lot of work for the homeowner, takes a lot of effort to educate yourself on the process, and it takes a BATTLE even to file the forms.

What is next?

I spoke with Paige about using the township drop box at the train station for filing revaluation appeals. She advised against it since that box is only checked once every several days at best. You are better off sending your appeal by mail (return receipt requested)if you want it to get there quickly and can't drop it off during day or evening hours when the town hall is open.

If you are sending important documents such as reval appeal paperwork, you should use UPS Next Day Air. Not only can you track the package every step of the way, but you get that all important electronic signature. It's a lot more reliable than the Post Office.
