Well, after reading the same message from "Damellon" for the fifteenth time under different threads, I realized that I need serious help. Too much valuable time is being spent reading this stuff. The following is a preliminary suggestion for a "Message Board" Twelve Step program: 1. Admit that we are powerless over this uncontrollable urge to log-on, and that our lives have become unmanageable. 2. Believe that a Power greater than ourselves can restore to us the hours lost checking for "New Messages". 3. Make a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of Dave, as we understand Him. 4. Make a searching and fearless inventory of our hard drives. 5. Admit to Dave, Jerry, Mem, Marie, LSeltzer, Nakaille, Townie, FFoF, Harold, JT, DWM, U-Cant, Curb, Eyespy, Tracks, Musicme, everybody else, and to ourselves, the exact nature of our wrongs. 6. Be entirely ready to have Dave remove our defects of character, and posting privileges if necessary. 7. Humbly ask Dave to remove our shortcomings, or at least the subcategories. 8. Make a list of all persons we had flamed, and become willing to make amends to them all. 9. Make direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would require us to reveal our real names. 10. Continue to take personal inventory, and when we find ourselves posting responses after 11:00 p.m., promptly delete them. 11. Seek to improve our conscious contact with Dave as we understand Him, seeking only His will for us, except when he takes our "New Message" option away. 12. Pledge to carry this message to other compulsive on-liners, and to get away from the computer more. |

Dave, Please don't delete that post - I need it for my daily affirmations with Stu Smalley. |

Dave - can you put an x in front of the Maplewood Reval topic. That way it would be the last (and longest) category instead of being right in the middle of everything. |

Can we have Nohero's "Twelve Step Program" posted automatically at the beginning of every thread? Or Maybe there should be a folder under Documentation Titled "NTSP". |

Nohero, I will co-author the NTSP Definitive Text with you and we'll sell it online! Then comes the NTSP video, the movie rights, etc. |

I know the drill, Dave. "The Man" always gets his cut . On the other hand, if I can get in on the ground floor before you go public, let me know. Normally, I'd be crazy to settle for just stock options now, but you've got a lot of eyeballs these days. What are you planning to do after this reval thing blows over? As for our posting habits, I don't think an "NTSP" warning will do it. I just read the Saturday night discussion in the Reval section. I think we're all hopeless! |
