They seem to have moved everything around by a few minutes. Just enough to screw you up. They go into effect Sunday and are here: http://www.njtransit.com/pdf/rail/r0040_10-26.pdf |

they're screwing us! What ever happened to the 7:17? It became the 7:11 and now the 7:08? The 5:45 becomes the 5:47! What's next? |

the real reason trainfare recently went up: constant reprinting of schedules. |

Was there always a non-stop train that left Maplewood near 7:44AM and arrived 32 minutes later? |

Now it's the 7:43 and I think it used to be the 7:47. The 7:11, now the 7:08, is a much better (faster) express train if you can make it to that one, which I unfortunately can't. |

The 7:44 (or whatever it is) has already been getting worse and worse, with quite a few standees every morning. But these changes will make it even worse, with the train before leaving earlier and earlier, and the one after later and later. This will leave most commuters with only one choice. It almost seems that NJT is in the process of reducing our service to a SINGLE hourly train even during rush hour. Outrageous. |

I’m not a regular commuter but with the help of algebra2 and others I have made the trip for almost 2 weeks (1 week to go). There was a memo on the train that said they would be adding 3 cars to the 7:38 (SO) one of those cars was for SO only. |

I have always found it amazing that there is no train between 7:39 (SO) and 8:23. This is a peak time - really crazy. |

nwyave: NJ Transit has always maintained that there are no midtown directs in that time period because there are no more slots available at Penn Stations. Originally, the 7:39, soon to be the 7:34 was a 7:44. The gap continues to get longer and since both are so crowded, one would think that they would have one of the midtown directs that blows through S. Orange could make one more stop. We have asked NJ Transit to come to a meeting in Nov. or Dec. and we will be sure to raise this question again among others. |

Similar situation in Maplewood -- nothing between 7:43 and 8:25! -- a LONG 42 minutes between rush hour trains. |

mfpark: Vermontgolfer is correct and as soon as NJ Transit confirms then they can come, I will post. It is also helpful if people email NJ Transit directly (via there website).

I just with they wouldn't run out of the little card with the train times. You think they would know to print a good amount of them.
There is nothing like being. |

The new 7:08am was awesome this morning! The train ran right through the station and then it was standing room only! I can't wait until 'Slippery Track Condition' November! Yeah! |

mikecappy - there were plenty of seats up front (as the conductors kept announcing). i ran up the platform when it looked like he was going to slide through the entire station |

Mikecappy. I am suprised you even made it work work today. I figured with BC winning, then your great showing in the 5k that you would have stayed homne to celebrate. PS. Maybe you should listen to the conductors and not spend so much time just looking for things to complain about. |

Jerseyfabulous, I do not appreciate your attacks. Maybe if you spent some more time with your family, you wouldn't be such a mean man! You weren't on the train...how do you know what the conductor said? |

the 5:47 (formerly 5:45) out of Penn was a cattle car. Remind me again what this change was supposed to do? |

Tom - I thought that was odd too. I can't see why making it two minutes later would make it so crowded. Maybe short a car yesterday? |

7:43 seemed pretty crowded this morning -- more than usual. It really is the only alternative -- 7:08 is too ealy to drop of kids at daycare and get to the train and 8:31 is WAY too late. |

Altho it's only been two days, my impression is that the 7:44 is definitely more crowded since the schedule change. As you say, alg2, now that the previous train is earlier and the subsequent train is later, the 7:44 is really the only choice for many of us. I am baffled and somewhat outraged that NJT has left us with so very few rush hour options. |

Tom: The change was supposed to allow NJT to add additional trains to most of the OTHER lines. From what I can tell we didn't get so much as one additional car. |
