I currently have an accountant in Morristown who I've used for a few years now, but feel the $200 charged to do my taxes may be a bit too steep.... She is thorough and very competent, but yet I feel I could get comparable service for less... Yes? No? Any feedback appreciated.... |

We actually pay a bit more than that ($250). Our tax return is moderately complicated but not extremely so. There are so many variations in tax returns it may be hard to compare. It actually sounds like a fair price for an independent accountant. |

I agree--in fact, if she is competent and thorough, I would like to get your accountant's name! |

I have a good accountant and our taxes may be more complicated than yours (although not as complicated as they used to be), but we pay way more than that. Sounds like you actually have a good deal. |

The $200 charge isn't high, comparatively speaking. I work for CPA's and we typically charge more than that for individual returns. I recommend that if you're happy with the services and competency, to stay put. |

$200 isn't high at all - we pay around $650 every year, though we have a ton of forms and a lot of deductions, etc. He charges for each form. If you like your accountant and you're happy, $200 is a relative bargain! |
