If you enjoy jazz, classical or world music - you'll love our final show of the season! The music of the Amy Platt Quartet is a wonderful blend of many different musical genres. The show is this coming Saturday, November 1st at the Underground (Maplewood Memorial Library basement).

Amy Platt

About the music of Amy Platt:
Drawing from the cultural diversity of New York City, composer and instrumentalist Amy Platt combines the finest in European classical tradition with meditative Indian improvisations, driving African rhythms, Middle Eastern dance melodies and swinging American blues. Her music is an eloquent dialogue of cross-rhythms across cultures. A virtuoso on a variety of woodwind instruments (clarinets, saxophones, and non-western woodwinds), her performances intertwine the sophistication of the concert hall with the fluidity of a jazz musician and the passion of a gypsy, defining the next generation of American music.

"Impressive, provocative, dissolving barriers between European instrumental performance and tribal music." - New York Times

One correction - It's not going to be a quartet - it'll be a QUINTET.
