At the property card workshop on Wednesday night I distinctly heard that the neighborhood data and the Zoning data was going to be posted on Maplewood ONline.

Haven't seen it yet. TC, Mr. G, when are we going to get this information?

Hey TC members where are you? I am pretty sure that some of you have read this post by now and the information, promised several times in the past, still isn't available at Town Hallnot to mention posted on the board. Without this information us poor taxpayers can't determine comparables.

I'm not a conspiracy buff, but...............

Why don't we have this public record information?

Now if you want to talk about conspiracies I know who killed JFK and it was UGH,,,,,,

Anyone know how the town's planning zones have changed sine 1981 (last appraisal)?

The zoning map found in the Zoning and Development Regulations, Chapter 271 (available at Town Hall for a fee)is dated 1986 and coincides with a revision of the Town Plan done at that time.

Such changes could explain some of the wide swings we are seeing in appraisal values, especially for land.

A number of us have asked for the neighborhood definitions used by CV in the reval on a number of occasions. This information was last promised at the property card workshop last Wednesday by Mr. Galante and the Mayor. It isn't online yet, and of Friday it wasn't available at Town Hall.

I believe that one of the reasons that the reval was slowed down was problems with getting up to date tax maps completed. This was stated by the Mayor on at lest one occassion at TC meetings.

I think all of this is related.

Joancrystal, There have been no major changes in the town zoning map since the last Master Plan adopted in July, 84 (re-examined in 91 and 97). Although I wasn't a member of the board at that time (84), I do not believe that that plan significantly changed any of the then existing zones in the town. Since I have been a member of the Zoning Board since 1994 and the Planning Board since 1999, I can tell you that there have been no significant changes in the zoning map in that timeframe.

The ZONING map, which deliniates what the zones are in town, is available in town hall. It designates things like zones that are R-1-7 (the permitted use is Residential 1 family homes on lots of 7000 square feet or more) or R-1-5, etc. etc.

The last full-blown revision to the Township Master Plan was done in (I think) 1984 so the zoning map mostly dates to that time. There were some changes made in the early 90's as a result of a late-80's Builders Remedy lawsuit against the Township. This created a continuing care retirement community zone... but the changes were pretty small.

There is also a Tax Map (with lot and block) that had to be changed recently. The county systems that keep all this changed over to decimal lot and block among other things. It was the late delivery of that map that delayed the start of the process.

I don't know the status of the "neighborhood definitions" but when we get 'em we'll post 'em.

Additionally I have been working with a citizen volunteer on linking the assessment spreadsheet to maps that can be generated and put on line. I am meeting with him tomorrow night and hope to make some of the map GIFs available after that.

Jerry
