Can anyone tell me to whom I should call and write about a potentially dangerous tree situation. The tree is owned by the town but is in front of my house (on the street side of the sidewalk). There is a large tree limb that's completely detached and is resting on 2 smaller limbs. It's about 50 feet high and could seriously hurt someone if it falls. (If it fell on a child's head it could kill them.) I've already called the town to no avail. The woman who answered said she would pass the message along to the shade tree people. Does anyone know how to speed up this process? There is no possible way for me to remove this myself. |

Call the main township number (762-8120). I forget the name of the department, but just explain and they'll transfer you. I've called about this sort of thing. Sometimes they are very fast, sometimes not. |

Lisat, Call the D.P.W. (762-1175) and tell the secretary or shade tree foreman that you have a "hanger" about 50ft high and is a real hazard. They will send someone immediately to take a look at it and if it is dangerous they will remove it that same day. |

Thanks to both of you for your responses. I'll be calling the D.P.W. Monday (and if that's a holiday, Tuesday). Appreciate your help very much. |
