I know there has been some talk of how to fill cracks in plaster but I don't have cracks so much as ridges where lines of plaster are raised above the surface of the wall or ceiling. My thought was to scrape them down with a putty knife and then repair with joint compund. Does this make sense? Thanks. |

Ashear, Your approach makes sense as far as the scraping however someone told me recently that plaster cracks should be patched with sheetrock joint tape. I am not sure I agree. I would rather use the fiberglass mesh or just joint compound but I think over time th plaster expands and the cracks will return. Let see if anyone cuts in with some better advice. |

I agree that the cracks will re-appear. Scrape, tape and mud as mentioned above.
