How can we get rid of bags of contruction debris, sheetrock, old sinks, etc? Also, would like to recycle wire shirt hangers. Suggestions? |

When I looked into this, I found that the only way was to rent a dumpster from anyone of several places listed in the yellow pages. They had various sizes. You are going to be robbed so just get ready for it. Also, plan to have the unit at your house for the fewest days possible, as the daily charges will hurt. I made a deal with some neighbors and we had a mini clean up of basements and garages. If you have a small amount you can drive it to the transfer site in East Maplewood, near Irvington. That is not cheap either. One Pickup truck load was charged at $80.00 cash, and I had to load it into their unit. Good luck! |

You can hire someone to haul it away. Look at the ads in the News-Record under rubbish. I used Chichelo a few weeks ago, and they cleaned up the storage area very well. He made an appt. to give me an estimate on Saturday, and picked up the stuff Sunday. |

u can haul debris to fairview in bergen county for 50 bucks if its under 2000 lbs.The trick is make sure your vehicle weighs under 4000 lbs.you will need some type of permit if your vehicle weighs more than that in most cities. If you have room ,pick up a small trailer from home depot and discard it yourself.i did and you end finding more uses for that trailer than just debris, like moving, peat moss, dirt, trees, motor bikes, a hay ride, use your imagination.Trailer pays for itself.i bought mine for 500 bucks for a 1 ton.ill have it forever.paid for itself 3 times only own it 2 years. |

We've gotten rid of such debris by calling Waste Management, the same company that you probably use for regular garbage pickup, and asking them for a special pickup. They're fast and reasonably priced. Last time we did it they just charged $50 to remove a bunch of old wood paneling. |
