Hi, can anyone reccommend some relatively inexpensive local places for Sunday brunch? Thanks.

Not sure I would call it brunch but we go to the Blue Moon diner for breakfast a lot on the weekend. For a nice, special occasion brunch I highly recommend the Short Hills Hilton but it's certainly not cheap. It's an exception to my rule of not eating in hotel restaurants.

Last Easter we took my mother-in-law and grandmother-in-law, along with our then-four month old baby, to the Marlboro Inn in Montclair. It was billed as a fancy Easter brunch, but I think they do regular Sunday brunches every week. The setting is really pretty, little kids are very welcome, and it's a historic building, but the food is merely OK. Then again, maybe things were a little crazy on Easter and it's usually better.

Doesn't Adler & Company in South Orange serve brunch on the weekends? It would be worth investigating.

Adler's would be great if they do serve brunch. Not sure about that, though. Niecy's, in South Orange, might also serve Sunday brunch, and I thought that I saw a sign at American Fare not so long ago advertising Sunday Brunch. I would give a call to all of these places, since they're local, which is what Sunny was looking for, and the food is good at all of them.

I think that Adler serves brunch on Saturday, but not on Sunday.

If you don't mind going to Montclair, The Office on Bloomfield has a great Sunday brunch from 10:30-2:30. They have a waffle station, carving & omelet station as well as a small buffet of hot & cold dishes, fruit and breads. It's only 12.95 per person and that includes a a drink (non-alcoholic). It's a decent atmosphere and you can't beat the price.

Essex House in West Orange serves Sunday Brunch from 11-3 (check on the hours...) for 17.95 per person.

Their menu (and exact hours) can be found at their website:

I just had a good brunch at the Westin Hotel (which is the old Governor Morris Hotel) in Morristown (on the border of Florham Park)).
