I've wanted to participate in one of these for years, but I don't know where they take place. The big one's in Lincoln Center, but it's kind of pricey. Does anyone know of any others in the area?

The Choral Art Society of New Jersey, Inc. is a non-profit, community chorus of about 75 singers dedicated to the study and performance of great choral works. The public is invited to participate in an annual Messiah Sing, held each December. This year the Messiah Sing will be held at St. Helen's Church, Rahway Avenue, Westfield. Singers and non-singers alike are welcome at this festive community event. Winter and Spring concerts are held each year at the Presbyterian Church of Westfield, on Mountain Avenue at East Broad Street.

A MESSIAH SING-IN
Friday, December 19th—8:00 p.m.

Haddonfield Methodist Church will host a gala Messiah Sing-In for interested singers and listeners. Accompanied by orchestra, it is a fitting preparation for the holidays. Soloists from around the area will join with choral singers for a very memorable evening of singing. Entry fee for singers and listeners is $8.00. Bring your own score or buy one there.

There are a bunch of em. I know William Patterson University does one, so does Princeton. I should imagine you could find some smaller ones in NYC that are free. Sorry not to be more helpful. I have done one of them once in Boston and it is a truely uplifting experience.

The NY Choral Society has cheap sing-ins in the summer.

I found this while looking for their Messiah sing-in. I didn't find it. I guess they discontinued it. It's been years since I was there.
