We are looking to have floor to ceiling bookshelves built for our dining room. We don't want to spend an arm and a leg on them (we're absolutely willing to pitch in to save on labor) but we would like to get recommendations and approx. prices for this kind of carpentry. The room is 11' x 11' and the wall we want to use has a window and a radiator on it.

Ikea has bookshelf units, both unfinished and walnut & mahogony finishes. They come in a variety of sizes so you might "customize" your wall very effectively.

We just built shelves for a home in Short Hills.
These were custom to match the existing and was a bit costly. I second the Ikea idea if your looking for simple, clean and cost effective.
