I noticed for about a week there's been a sign "closed until further notice". |

It has been up for sale almost a year and no takers. I guess he had to file Chapter 11. Owner of the store itself has not been around much just had people working there holding down the fort. I heard the owner of the building lives in Arizona and just keeps jacking up the rent and everytime the taxes went up the rent would go up even more! |

Perhaps they're owned by the same guy in Arizona, but I think Nursie is thinking of the other liquor store, the one on Maplewood Ave. The storeowner related that complaint about the owner of the building not caring about tax increases at one of the TC meetings. I think the problem with the one that's closed is that it was kind of cheap looking for the village. If I wanted a six of Bud (yuck! puke!) I might go there, but If I wanted a bottle of wine I would go to the other one. |

Now that I think of it your a right it is the one on Maplewood Ave. that is owned by the guy in Arizona. The store that closed had little to offer and a very small inventory! |

I disagree. The store that closed was world's better than the one on Maplewood Ave. A much larger and cheaper beer selection. A great wine selection. Even chips. Sure, it was no beauty, but what do you want in a liquor store? |

Hmmmmmm, Budweiser. I frequented both stores (maybe too often). Does the one on Maplewood Ave have kegs -- nothing better than a party on a spring day with a cold keg of Bud. Anyway, does this mean there is a liquor lic. available? |

I agree with Rheims -- the cheapo store had a great beer selection. I don't much buy into the whole swanky store = better store thing. Nevertheless, the store on Maplewood Ave. carries Boddington's (yay!), so all is well. |
