My living room and dining room ceilings are cracking and peeling. How do I repair the sections where the paint is falling off causing an uneven surface? Any ideas how to fix the cracks as well. Also I have always wondered why the ceilings have a 12" x12" grid like pattern below the surface. The house was built in 1941. |

The 12 x 12 grid pattern has me stumped, but probably the best way is to sheetrock over the exisiting ceiling given the damage seems pretty extensive. |

Agree with bobk. You'll find your self repairing the cracks again in the near future. "Glue it and screw it" Michael K. Mc Kell
