Well, as most posters in home fix-it know, I'm having painting done. Unfortunately, when the painter opened up part of the ceiling (2nd floor, attic is above) to repair the sagging, he found that it was the joist that was sagging, not the plaster. I have no idea who to call for help. Is it a general contractor, a carpenter, an engineer? Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks! |

Try the Contractors, 763-5753. They do everything. |

I would have an engineer look at it. I had the same problem. It could be a failure of the joist, a load problem, a simple warp, or as in my case a failure in the basement which allowed the entire load bearing wall to drop a bit and thus allow the sage on the 2nd floor. The cost to look was free. The true fix did not cost that much. |
