Here's a new question regarding our school system.

Has anyone else had a problem with the EZ Lunch program? Are your balances right every month?

It seems every month my children's accounts are screwed up. We always send in an extra $10.00 in "flex" money and yet our children seem to run out of money before the month is up. We have been keeping track of everything our children buy and our numbers don't even come close to the school's numbers. I wonder how many people just send in more money and figured that their child had some extra snacks? If you haven't been keeping track I suggest you start! Simply ask your child to tell you what he/she had everyday and then get a print out from the office located in CHS.

If you think something is screwy, you can always call the EZ Lunch people at the HS (378-9655). They are always helpful. My son likes to get a bagel (ala carte) but he's constantly charged for a complete lunch when he gets this. (It's driving me crazy!) But better yet- if your schedule allows, go in to your school during lunch, volunteer your time with the kids(play 4-square etc) and see what your child eats! Another alternative- some parents put NO "flex" money in the account so that their children are not able to get the snacks in the first place. You can always send in snacks from home (that you have control of!) to supplement his/her hot lunch.
