I'd prefer it to move out to sea, since we haven't gotten around to buying a snow blower yet. Then again, M/SO schools are closed on Monday anyway, so if it lasted until just into Tuesday (long enough to give us a four day weekend) it would be kind of nice, too. |

Judging by the massive seige mentality and hysteria at the food stores yesterday,( and, no doubt today also) we will be snowed in for months! Good grief! |

The shelf spot which should have contained stuffed olives in Kings today was bare! Why? What seige mentality had folks stocking up on olives? Makes you wonder. |

Hey, Nursie! These last 3 storms finally taught me something. We've parked our cars, facing the street, at the street end of the driveway! Unfortunately, still no snowblower, everywhere we checked was sold out. I'm wondering , did they sell out because of this storm, or because they had never re-ordered their winter supplies, figuring it was MArch already, and instead chose to stock their rakes and lawn mowers? No school Tuesday would be nice, but then if school is also closed on Wednesday, it would mean school is open that Friday of Spring recess. I'd also say there is little chance of a delayed opening.. Havent had one in at least 6 years, why start now? |

Don't these people still have enough left over from their Y2K stockpiles to ride out a simple Nor'easter? Woe to the poor fool (me) out to get a box of Bisquick Sunday morning, who had to do without pancakes. |

The school district no longer does late openings or early closings. It's either school or no school. I'm betting no school Tuesday, school Wednesday. But so far nothing much seems to be happening. |

Early closings were a mess because of the confusion they generated, I know. But I would like to see delayed openings so that we would have time to clear our walkways and dig out the cars without having to get up at 4 AM to do it. If the sidewalks aren't clear, it makes getting to and from school/train station difficult if not dangerous for the walkers. It also means they will be walking out in the street, not always the best alternative if icy or slippery. But having to get to school by 8:30 (rather than 10) means you can't always get it done before school, so you leave it until later in the day. Would the occasional delayed opening be that difficult for parents/caregivers? I'd be interested to see how most people feel on this. I believe the District feels the community does not want delayed openings - how do you all feel? |

No Service on the Morris & Essex line at all due to wire problems - this includes the trains from Hoboken. |

There has been no Midtown Direct service into or out of Penn Station all day. All of those trains have been going in and out of Hoboken. The NJ Transit website (www.njtransit.com) earlier said that would also be the case tomorrow, although that statement no longer seems to be included there now, so it's anybody's guess. Service out of Hoboken was suspended for a couple of hours due to the wire problems, but I got a call from my husband about 15 minutes ago and he said that he was on a train making its way here and at that point they had just left Newark. |

The NJ transit Hoboken scene was NUTS today, and there was no snow (ok, there was some). It should be fun if it actually does snow. |
