Check out the community calendar on the Maplewood online home page. Details about a candidates' forum appear in the entry for March 15. There should be one or two other opportunities to see all the candidates together as well between then and election day, and these are usually taped and then replayed on CCN, the high school's TV station. Also, you should keep your eye out for candidate coffees that are hosted in various neighborhoods. |

Fred- Didn't you read your News Record last week? Oh, I might have lent it to Lucy and Ricky. I remember that there are 3 spots available with only one incumbent, Bill Gold (although you could count 2 if you include Slafkes who's running again after a brief hiatus). As for the election date...Luuuucy! Love, Ethel |

"Three of the five candidates running for a seat on the South Orange-Maplewood Board of Education are veterans of BOE elections. William Gold and Michael Manley, both of Maplewood, and Shelley Slafkes of South Orange have all run for a board office at least twice. Nominating petitions for the April 17 election were due by 4 p.m. Monday. Of these candidates, Gold is the only incumbent. Two other current board members, Marianne Sender and Robin Baker, whose terms expire in May, have chosen not to run for re-election." complete story - http://mymaplewood.com/ |
