Can anyone recommend an excellent patio contractor to build a relatively large concrete or stone patio? Our priority is on quality - we have seen patios that buckle or cave in just a few years after installation, and we're willing to pay a little more for the best so that this doesn't happen. On the other hand, we had one quote already from a landscape architect who does "design/build" that was just unbelievably expensive. Who's pleased with their patio and, if so, who installed it? Thank you.

We had a great experience with Mark of Countryside Landscaping (908-630-9287). In 1999, he built a bluestone patio that included some small timber retaining walls and steps. He also did some landscaping - relocating some treasured bushes and shrubs successfully. He also built a decorative stone retaining wall for our front yard. We found his prices reasonable after getting estimates from several contractors.
