With total uncertainly of who will win today and by how much, I predict that by tomorrow morning there will be a new thread initiated by Straw or Don which explains exactly why these results mean that Bush will win in November. This thread will also, no matter the winner, tell how the results prove liberals are ( wrong | evil | misguided | treasonous | immoral ), will contain the word "stupid" and at least one typographical error. I also predict that the new thread's title will be in all caps, with a rolling, laughing face icon next to it. This will all happen no matter who wins. Bank on it. |

As a liberal, tom....what do you make of the tightening in the race (with the major candidates) where you have the one consistent anti-war candidate dead even with 3 others that supported the war with the caveat that they really didn't, or did but not the way the war or post-war was conducted, or (fill in latest explanation here). What do you think that means for your party? |

Thank you for begining this thread tom. Nobody needs to explain exactly why Bush will win in November, but he will. Yes, the Iowa caucuses are being held today, and no matter what you hear, it's wide open. All Dean, Gephardt, Kerry and Edwards are doing is competing to see who gets to take on Clinton stooge Wesley Clark in New Hampshire. The polls are squeaky tight with no clear front-runner. This is going to get good. Once the Iowa caucuses are over, you can then race to New Hampshire and spend a week watching liberals start clawing each other's eyeballs out. After that, it's a sudden death playoff until the money runs out. Of course, standing on the sidelines gleefully watching all of this is Hillary. She can't wait for Wesley Clark to knock off the others and then tank in the general election, thus clearing the way for her 2008 run. And if Clark doesn't tank on his own? Well, the Clintons have all of the information they need to get rid of Clark. Remember, Clinton was the Commander in Chief when Clark was fired from his European Command. You can make book on it that sooner or later we're going to learn what those "character and integrity" problems with Clark are. (Now can you find the typographical error?)

If you like the Electoral College, you'll love the Iowa Democratic caucuses. Here's a link to gaining a grip on how they work. http://www.caucus2004.org/filemgmt_data/files/2004presidential.precinct.caucus.p df

Just a couple of more hours until the circus, caucus, that is , begins. I get confused. But tom, it's the media pundits who will be spinning their stories and watching them will be a hoot. Most are saying Dean by a hair, but I think Kerry may just squeak it out. and Edwards is an enigma. If Edwards ends up on top, all bets are off. |

Kerry and Edwards well ahead of Dean with 50% counted. Good sign for Edwards, bad sign for Bush. |
