If Kerry and Edwards absorb Gephardt's voters (and I think Edwards may get more), Dean may be finished. |

What the hell is with that speech Dean gave? He sounded more like Hulk Hogan than a credible Presidential candidate. He is a real embarassment. ---> Brought to you by Sbenois Engineering LLC <- Hey, it also wouldn’t look good coming out of a motel with your wife’s best friend saying you were just planning a surprise birthday party for her husband...- Arturo November '03

Dean got whupped. Look for Kerry first in NH, Clark 2nd, Edwards 3d and Dean 4th. Dean will be through. He plays horribly in South Carolina, and will do no better in Arizona and the midwest primaries after that. And he did sound like Hulk Hogan -- thought maybe he'd smash a chair on the head of the nerdy looking guy over his left shoulder, or maybe body slam Tom Harkin |

I'm starting to think that Kerry-Clark (or vice versa) is an awfully attractive ticket politically come November. |

Gee, without Howard Dean, what are all you guys going to do for fun around here? And Tjohn, even though it would be a two-senator ticket, Kerry-Edwards may be a better balance than Kerry-Clark. |

Right behind Anne is the guy who played George Mason on "24," and to his left, just above the guy with the hat, is Dan Quayle. It's an eclectic crowd. |

Now that Howard's jetting off to his proposed cage match in Wrestlemania 63, would someone please help me? I'm supporting a loser and it's going to kill my political career

According to CNN.com, Gephardt didn't win any delegates in Iowa, so this is a mute point.

Nohero, I don't like Clark. There seems to be something wrong there. Contrary to popular belief, having served in the military does not automatically confer wisdom and some special statecraft skills. In any case, I think the Iowa caucases were a disappoint for the Republicans who, I am sure, were hoping for a Dean candidacy. |

Dean just looked like a guy who needs to be reminded, that he's really addressing a TV audience, not a crowd in a hall. Kerry, who always seemed to have the opposite problem, really seems to be coming to life now. Sorry, Tjohn, I have no idea why I typed your name when I was responding to M-drive. So, does that mean you're seeing it as Kerry-Edwards? Or does Joe L. take the number 2 slot one more time? |

Edwards won't have the war chest to beat Bush.. plus as Bob Dole has said, Edwards would make a great President on the "West Wing", not the White House. BUSH/CHENEY IN 2004.. |

Among the many surprizes from Kerry was his family. His two daughters (20 somethings who seem pretty together), his step son (who looks like him, which is probably good for a conspiracy theroy or three), his wife and his school teacher older sister all stepped up to the plate in Iowa and campaigned for him. This might have helped with the womens vote and the youth vote and 'the family values" vote. Anyway, something interesting to think about. Can anybody imagine Bush putting the twins on the road (yoh, where is the bar?)? Dah! Kerry's biggest problem if he gets the nomination is is very liberal voting record. He is on his fourth term in the Senate which will give the research folks in the Bush campaign plenty of ammo. It will be tough to counter, since Bush served less than one term as Governor in a state where the Governorship doesn't have a lot of power. |

The loss of Gephardt I think shows that the bitter union "we're losing all our jobs to Mexico" anti-free trade constituency isn't big at all. Nor should it be. NAFTA was fine when Clinton 'created' 20M jobs, but now NAFTA and other free trade agreements are costing the US jobs? Can't have it both ways. The wires quote some guy saying that labor couldn't agree on one Dem candidate -- Gephardt or Dean. Their larger problem is over 1/3 of organized labor votes republican. |
