People on this board have raved about ABC Payless, but I'm not impressed. The guy balked at coming over to give me a 'free' estimate, then when he did finally come, he tried to talk me into having work done I wasn't interested in. He said he'd fax me an estimate that afternoon (Friday), now here it is 3 days and 2 phone calls later and nothing. I suspect he isn't interested in my business. Any suggestions? |

I don't know if any plumber is "cheap" but we've been happy with Joe Fischetti. He is local and he returns phone calls and comes when he says he will come and I have never felt "ripped off". |

Personally, I didn't like Fischetti - found him opportunistic. I've been quite pleased with Jeffrey Zwigard. Honest, reliable and competent (nobody's "cheap"). He was also honest about what we didn't have to do. |

We've been using Fischetti for the past 3 years. They always call back, they arrive when they say they will, and they know what they're doing. We've never had a bad experience with them, and we've had them in for both service and emergencies several times each year that we've been in our house. I guess everyone's experience is different, but I feel very comfortable recommending them. |

"Good, cheap plumber"....isn't that one of the worlds great oxymorons? |

I have used Lamco (only once), but was happy with the job. They will give a free estimate (becoming less common these days!), and I think a very fair price. In addition, someone ALWAYS picked up the phone whenever I called, and Tom ALWAYS called me back. It's even rarer to get a call back from anyone these days. Note to those who perform the services that homeowners need: return your phone calls! If I need a service, leave a message on a machine, and don't receive a return phone call back, I strike the person/company off my list permanently. Is business that good you not only turn it away, but risk turning it away permanently? O.K. I'm done. Sorry for the rant. |

Fischetti? My brother and I call him Dr. Fischetti.. Prices like brain surgery. Also, he busted my chops about some out of code plumbing (old house). Call Payless Plumbing. |

I had Fischetti come over to look at the 2 bathrooms we're planning to remodel. He gave me a vague ballpark estimate, but when I asked for a written estimate, he said he'd only take the time to do it if I told him he had the job. What?! We're using someone else - job is in progress, so I can't give a recommendation yet. |

Sad thing is most of these things are fairly easy to do ..If only there were more hours in the day... |

Stop and call CT Williams & Son-by far the best and most fair plumber we have encountered. We had Mr. Fischetti come to our home also and, while his work was fine, his bill was a bit shocking. |
