We just sold our house and will be moving out of the area. My nanny who has been with us for over 3 years is now looking for a new family to work with. She will be available after May 15th, 2000 and is looking for full time (Mon-Fri) live-out work. We are so sad to be leaving Maplewood and to be leaving her. Please e-mail me with any questions or interest. Thanks.

Andyem,

We just moved to Maplewood and are expecting in July -- probably a little too late to utilize your recommendation. I do have a question for you though -- approximately how much could I expect to pay for a full time live-out nanny in this area? What about a full time live-in one?

We're in the process of researching all of our options.

Much appreciated,
Konigen

Hi Andyem,

Are you the person who originally posted re this in January? The email address I responded to at that time started with "bms. (On your message above, your name does not "link" to an email address at all.) If you're not the same person, would you reply to me here and/or directly at michelez@home.com? I'm going to China (to adopt) in two weeks, and will need a Nanny by the start of June or so for my then to be 17 month old...

Thanks so much!!!
Michele

P.S. If any other families want to share some hours with us during the day, please email me as well. It would be great for Kaydi to have a daytime playmate!

Konigen -
I think the standard live-out rate is anywhere between $300-$400 per week for one child (maybe more if they drive). There are alot of things that can be taken into consideration such as: cleaning, cooking, transportation, hours, etc. I pay $350 for 2 children but she doesn't clean, she does do laundry plus I pick her up and drive her home in the evening. There are also alot of other finge benefits that help keep my cost down. Live-in I think is alittle cheaper since they are using your water, food, etc.
It was definately the way to go for me with my first child since the thought of dragging a baby out in the cold/heat at 7:00am was not at all an option and it has worked out very well for me.

I hope you find this info helpful. Good Luck!!
Andyem

Andyem & Michele:
We are moving to Maplewood at the end of May and will need a full-time, live-out caregiver for our 3 year old daughter. We will only need someone through Labor Day when our daughter begins preschool.

Michele: Would you consider sharing a babysitter for the summer? Our daughter is also adopted (from Korea) and I am an adult Korean adoptee. My daughter is used to being around other kids and I think being with another child (after our big move from NYC) will help with her adjustment.
And good luck with your trip to China! How exciting.

If you want to email me. My address is dotenrico@aol.com.
