Some "First in the Nation" hamlet (Smugglers Notch?) deep in the woods of New Hampshire opened up their polls at 12 midnight last night and closed them a few minutes later after all 26 residents had dropped ballots in a wooden box. And guess who got the most votes?? Not Kerry, not Dean, Not Lieberman, not Clark, not Sharpton, not Edwards, not undecided, not Dukakis (one write in?) but George W. Bush! Way to go "W"! Ed May |

Uhm, Ed, he was running unopposed. In 2000 he got his butt whipped by McCain. |

Of the 15 people casting ballots in the Dixville Notch Democratic primary, eight voted for Clark. Sen. John Kerry collected three, Sen. John Edwards had two and Sen. Joe Lieberman and former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean had one each.

I believe that once a precinct has "closed", their results can be released and this happens every time with this particular one. |
