It may happen. He may do us all a serious favor and run. It's true, please let him know you support this decision and will stand behind him.. MAKE SEBONIS RUN! MAKE SEBONIS RUN! MAKE SEBONIS RUN!!! He's smart, has common sense, understands the consequences of the tax disaster, understands the real issues, and on top of it has a hot wife (from what I hear) The time is right!!!! SHOW HIM YOUR SUPPORT, NOW! Look for awhile at the China Cat Sunflower proud-walking jingle in the midnight sun Copper-dome Bodhi drip a silver kimono like a crazy-quilt stargown through a dream night wind.

As a candidate for Township Committee in 2003, I know all about the rigors of the campaign, the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune that raise their ugly heads, the joy of victory (as in winning the debates), the agony of defeat (as in losing the general election), the ups and downs, the duel edged sword of fundraising, dealing with technical snafus, the pleasure in receiving over a thousand votes, the ego boost in being endorsed by the News-Record, the pain when the same N-R declared that Joel and I were trounced and sped past (like we were not even a speed bump!), etc. etc. During the long lonely months of the campaign there was one spot of joy and that came from the humor of Sbenois. He (or she) added a certain wit and witicism to the campaign that the Democrat candidates could not provide and went beyond the perkiness of the Ziegler-May campaign itself. ("Repent Democrats, Repent"). Sure, we enjoyed the dirty tricks (like placing the Ziegler-May sign behind Ken Patterson during the Hilton Debate). Indubitively we loved being chauffeured around Maplewood by "How Great Thou ART" and also spending time in the flatbed truck with Bobbi. But it was Sbenois that really made us laugh! So Sbenois gets my vote for campaign punster and purveyor of pungent pontifications, but (and this is a big butt), I cannot endorse a Democrat for TC, and, Sbenois (to the best of my knowledge) is of that ilk. If Sbenny pulls a Ronald Reagan and switches to the GOP, he might just get my V-O-T-E. Mean time, let's stop disparaging Ian, who I have actually seen. And lets stop the dum jokes about mr. humor. And let's find out what the Sbenois platform is. My suggestion "NO NEW TAXES!". PS, I am focusing on getting George W. Bush re-elected this year, so (in a sense) you won't have Ed May to "kick around any more". As for Joel, he has had a "change of heart", and I don't expect him to make a fourth run for the TC in 2004. God Bless Maplewood and the good old USA! Ed May |

Winning at debates? Candidates don't win debates, they win elections. |

I know. We won primary. We won the debates. We won the hearts and minds of 31% of the 25% who voted. We lost the general election. But the good news is we do not have to go to all those BORING TC meetings! Ed May |

Ed May says: "I cannot endorse a Democrat for TC". And yet he appealed to "Disenfranchised Democrats" to vote for him.

1) I would seriously consider renouncing my membership in the Democratic Party if it would guarantee me the votes of all eight Republicans in town. 2) I also agree that Ian should not be disparaged. I seriously like the way Ian has grown in his time on the TC. He's become the "quiet Beatle" up there. Whereas I once thought that his silence meant disinterest, I've come to appreciate that he's a thoughtful, deliberative kind of guy who is just trying to move the ball forward. For regular lip readers of the MDMAS All-Star Show, it should also be apparent that "Mr. Ken, uh, Patterson" is not "Fred's guy" and this TC has quite a healthy dose of differing opinions being offered.

I have also been very impressed with Ken. He's not Fred's Guy but is an intelligent, independent-thinking member of the TC. He and David make a good team. I wish we could play TC Survivor. |

Sbenois unveils the first plank in his all important platform: 1) I will advocate strongly for a controlled deer hunt in the reservation. If elected, I will be selling raffle tickets for the opportunity of a lifetime! That's right, some lucky hunter will win a chance to use the all new Sbenois Deer Howitzer. This glorious device is best described as 900 Pounds of laser guided, solid steel hell. It is designed to fix a Sbenois Wants A Fresh Yumster NOW target on Bambi's back. Then, with one pull of the trigger, Bambi is shot, and cooked right on the spot to the delicious perfection of Yumster Heaven. I'm thinking that we ought to go with something like TC American Idol. Here is tonight's first contestant, Kathy Luventylhhll (sic). Kathy will be humming Shine on You Crazy Diamond by Pink Floyd...
Now let's check the reaction of our judges...

Jeffl: We get to play TC survivor every November. Last year Vic and Jerry both got voted off the "All-Star-Team". This year it's David's turn to convince us at "Tribal Council time" whether he will get to stick around for another three years. ...and so it goes. |
