This is simply the best summary around about the failure to address issues of terrorism and the Taliban in Afghanistan, and why the US failed to do that and what the dangers of the failure are. It also details the very serious human rights abuses by the same thugs that Donald Rumsfeld was recently embracing on his trip to Afghanistan. The same rapes and tortures Saddam employed when we backed him.
The article is long, but it's worth it for people seriously interested in understanding these things.
