Anyone know where I can get some decently priced wooden radiator covers?

I don't know how the prices are, but I cut out an ad in the Times from a company called The Wooden Radiator Cabinet Co. -- haven't had the chance to do so myself, but you can call them at 1-800-817-9110 for a free brochure.

Jd,
I just called the 800 number, and on the recorded message, they mentioned that they have a website at www.woodenradiatorcabinet.com. You may be able to get prices there.

There's a place in Newark along 21/McCarter Hwy (altho I think it actually faces a cross street near one of the bridges) called Mack something that has radiator covers. I've been meaning to check it out but only recently saw it up close. Since someone else was driving I couldn't stop and check it out at the time but I did see wooden ones in the window. Sorry I don't have more detailed info. If you're heading north from Penn Station it will be on your left.

The wooden radiator company is OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive...$500-600 per cover, more or less. I will check out the place in Newark! Thanks.

Deborah: please report back :). I'm sure they could do a good business just from Maplewood homeowners alone!

Deborah:

2 years ago we had covers built and installed by 'The Wooden Radiator Company' Yes they seemed expensive, and we had to wait for them to be built. But got to tell you, we are very Happy with them. They look Great! At the risk of being a sales spokesperson for them, do it.

I'm open to letting you drop in and take a look at our installation. If interested add a note.

A few years ago we bought some wooden radiator covers from "Home Owners Heaven" on route 22 (Scotch Plains?). It took about a week or so from order to pick-up, and they offered some choices of grill style and color. They were about $100 each. We hired a local guy to come in and trim them so they fit snug against the basebord.

I think the store is still there, but they were building a huge Home Depot close by, so you better call first!
