I need to dispose of half-filled paint cans. I believe the "Spring Refuse Collection" does not allow paint and solvents to be included. How does one go about disposing of these items. |

If it's latex paint you can just open the cans, let them dry out, and throw them out with regular trash. |

If it's oil-based paint, there was a group of high school students who used it to paint the murals in the train station tunnels. At one time, they were looking for donated paint. Don't know if they still need it. I think the teacher who was the coordinator for the group was Mr. Nardone, but I can't swear to that. Perhaps you can call CHS on a school day and ask to talk to the head of the Art Dept. That person might know if they still need paint donations of oil-based (not latex) paints. |

If it is oil base paint you have to bring it to the Essex County Hazardous Material site on certain dates. The Public Works Department should have the next date and location. If it is latex; Lseltzer was correct. |
