Would any MOL poster be willing to put his or her past life up to such scrutiny? Are you comfortable with your military record, or lack thereof? Have you ever inhaled? Have you ever been in the same room with Jane Fonda? Have you ever been in the same bed with anyone named Jane?

Who's brave enough, or foolhardy enough? I'm curious.

I wouldn't mind holding my past life up to public scrutiny (the sum total of my previous experiences would equal my viability as a candidate) but life is far too short to make me want to put mine on hold for four to eight years -assuming I was elected.

I really admire the selflessness of those who chose to run for public office.

I would run FROM running for President, and away from anyone running FOR it.

Where is Pogo when we need him?

If I did run, I'd have to run as a Democrat. I came of age in the late 70s, and I'm sure there are plenty of pictures out there.

You can run as a Republican as long as you swear your "youthful indiscretions" were all behind you by age 40.

If nominated I shall not run. If elected I shall not serve.

Duncan: I didn't know that. Thanks. That's what I get for reading MOL instead of the news. Of course since the NY Times printed the photo it shows you can't trust what you read or see in the papers.

There are two photos out there. The one where Kerry is over the shoulder of Fonda is legit. The one where they're on stage together is not. However, the political connection between the two has been made. Mission accomplished.

Anyone who was around for Vietnam or who has studied the era knows that the anti-war movement was a broad coalition of people ranging from professional lefties through grandmothers.

Nothing at all to be ashamed of. I'm sure Fonda and Kerry will be touring together.

Mission accomplished - that being the general mission of the republicans, misleading the American people.

You call this photo misleading? Wait until you hear Kerry explain his vote for the war on the stump. But you have to set aside a chunk of time for him to get through it.
