Can anyone recommend a good exterminator? We've been having a big problem with ants since February, and the normal methods haven't worked. Since it's not even spring yet, I'm afraid this might be time for the professionals! I'd at least like someone to come in and assess the situation.

AR Dean. They did work in our house before we moved in, and we called them to look into what we found out were meal moths. They came in, assessed the situation, told us what to do, and left--no bill. Viking came in and was ready to charge us $250. (And probably poison us in the process.)
I don't have the number handy, but Evelyn at Klein Realty recommended them, so she would. (Now Burgdorff/Klein Division.) |

Well, they told me what it was, first off. They said just to clean the cabinets out, wash them down (we used some kind of soap/insecticide from Home Depot that dries non-toxic--that might not be 100% accurate, my husband did it) throw away infected items. No big secret, but we had never seen meal moths flying around and we thought they were eating through our new cabinets so we were alarmed. |
