The message board has grown, resulting in many more categories of posts than existed when I started posting five years ago. I have noticed that the Virtual Cafe has evolved into a section of the message board which contains a large number of topics which may easily be divided into two categories: games and casual conversation. There enough posts in each category to it reasonable to consider splitting the Virtual Cafe into two distinct sections. |

Happy New Year, Joan Should we then subdivide the Please Help section into categories as well? I don't think so... Guggie: HNY...... what do you think? |

i suggest a section related with pregnancy/moms issues. i think we have enough moms and women expecting to have a section to share issues, suggestion, ask questions, give references, etc all related with pregnancy, moms, day cares, doctors, and more. what do you guys think? |

This has been suggested before. I will make the same suggestion now that I did the last time this idea was raised on the board. Demonstrate the need for a section of this type on the board by starting as many relevant threads as you can in as many sections of the board as poossible. If lots of expectant moms and moms with young children participate actively thereby establishing the need is clearly there, Dave/Jamie may consider adding such as section. Good Luck! |

If it comes to be, I hope it becomes a parents' section, not a mothers' section. Fathers are parents, too. Some fathers are very involved. Some fathers are even more involved than the mothers.

Tom: I would expect the father to participate actively in child rearing discussions but I think the men would have a very different take than the women on issues relating to problems/issues with pregnancy. |

You bet, and they may be of value from time to time, so I'd like to see a childrearing section which includes pregnancy as one of many welcome topics.

Would it be easier to post answers on threads in reverse order? Some other web sites do this, so, when you are answering, the most recent is on top. Just a thought. |

I would find that very confusing since given my usual MOL schedule, it is typical for ten or more posts to appear on a topic before I get around to reading the updates. Scrolling backwards to get a sense of what transpired is really hard. What I would like see changed is the position of the "previous/next" links. It would be a lot easier to just click on one of these links after reading all of the thread updates than having to scroll up to the top of the thread page prior to clicking on the link for the next set of posts. |

how about a "childcare" or "parenting" section? so many requests for help, advice, info, etc, end up scattered about... |

This has been suggested many times. Check the archives and attic for the link to a parenting forum some MOLers set up. |

how about a thread for polls? LIke - what do you like better pizza or tacos? that kind of thing. People could vote...there could be graphs! Also, how about being able to buy custom titles for a nominal donation. So where "supporter" is - it could also say "tin foil hat wearin'" and, how about a podcast? |

Maybe there could be an icon placed in front of threads that are at ground zero of fights. Everyone is always looking for the good fights on MOL, and sometimes things are deleted before everyone can read them and say "Oh snap, that had to hurt." |

Dave, I don't know if anyone has suggested this before (pretty sure they may have, I just haven't checked!) but there are a lot of threads on animals. Could there be a section dedicated to pets/help/advice/lost etc? I just got a dawg!!!!! |

goodness, SOP. I posted about that awhile ago. I tend to gather lost pets/wildlife here and living in a border block(newark/irvington/southorange/maplehood) it has been very hard to find the owners of lost pets. We have actually adopted quite a few. Would love to see a Lost/Found Topic on MOL |

I'm in that same border area and when we moved here 25 years ago our 17 year old cairn terrier ('Puppy') ran off for the first (and, obviously, last) time in his life. We made the rounds (over and over and over) to ALL the pounds in the area and kept looking back in Millburn (the only home he had ever known) but all to no avail. Never saw him again, talk about no closure. For years the kids kept expecting him to just pop up... Anyone ever sees a black and white mostly (pound dog, don't know exact lineage) cairn terrier about 36 years old out there... (Hey! ya gotta hope!) |

How about a link to the posts where someone was banned? I'm always curious when people start to post about someone like they're deceased. It could serve as a reminder of what the rules are... kind of like the stockade. Hey, that's a great name for the new section! Actually, We The People can do this ourselves. I'm off. J.B. |

Often if a post is bad enough to get someone banned it is also bad enough to get that post and possibly the entire thread deleted. Nice idea though. |

Start a section on gardening and landscaping. It's not really part of home fix it; please help is too broad |

The search function seems to work great if you limit your search to a particular category. Make it too broad and it craps out. |
