With all the unrest in the mid-east over cartoons, it is mind blowing to me that Gore is there mouthing off about America's treatment of Muslims here after 9/11!
Talk about handing out free fodder for inflaming our enemies! Does Gore do cartoons? Who is paying for his speaking engagements there?
Even if there is substance to some of his criticism, this is not the time to SHARE his thoughts with those who hate everything that is not Islamic.
There is such a thing as responsibility for outcome. Everything cannot be for political pop shots. Potential for fallout and terror is very real. Shame on Gore. His bid for a place in the Democratic scheme of things, I hope, will be ended soon. |

I think we need to focus on the fact that Islamic radicals will find fodder even if we create none.
Keeping quiet for the sake of the Islamic extremists is akin to telling the Jews in Nazi Germany to keep a low profile. |

I agree with your point, but I think we are in a little less danger than that. Almost no one should invoke nazi comparisons on the left or the right.
Al Gore made a very poor decision. Hard to fathom.

Every society has people with the potential to behave as did the S.S. In the Islamic world, these people are much more prominent and enjoy more support than is currently the case in the Western world.
So, I did not invoke the Nazi comparison without a bit of consideration. |

I agree. Al Gore was way out of line. The president needs to be able to order the detention and torture of Muslim evildoers, and if Al Gore is running around the Middle East calling attention to it, he's just aiding the terrorists. I support the right of the president to do anything in the war on terror, but I can't support anyone's right to talk about it. Talking about it just inflames the people who hate us and our freedom. |
