Apparently the news tonight is that a $1 million bounty has been put on the life of the Danish cartoonist who drew the cartoon of Muhammed with the bomb coming out of his head. What will the response of Western governments be? Will the E.U. meet in emergency session to declare that if a single Danish hair is touched, every E.U. nation will declare war on the nation from which the offenders come? Will the U.S. call for an emergency session of NATO? That's what I'd do, if I were president. It is high time that we show these fanatical murderers that we will not tolerate any more violence in the name of their distorted conception of Islam. I am ashamed to see how the Western world has cowed in front of this new intifada. Enough is enough. Finally, I think everyone better start mentally preparing themselves for the day none of us ever hoped to see: the day that World War III begins. There is an Iron Veil descending across Asia, from the middle east to Indonesia. It will not be a cold war this time, I fear. |

Time to stand with our Danish friends and allies. ------------------------------------------------- Cleric offers $1 million reward for killing cartoonist. PESHAWAR, Pakistan - A Pakistani Muslim cleric said Friday that he and supporters were offering rewards of more than $1 million for killing Danish cartoonists who drew caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad. Maulana Yousef Qureshi, a cleric in the northwestern city of Peshawar, said during Friday prayers that he personally had offered to pay a bounty of 500,000 rupees ($8,400), while a jewelers association was putting up $1 million, and others were offering $17,000 plus a car. Qureshi repeated the offer at rally later in the city to protest against the cartoons. "If the West can place a bounty on Osama bin Laden ... we can also announce reward for killing the man who has caused this sacrilege of the holy prophet," Qureshi told Reuters, referring to the $25 million U.S. bounty on the al-Qaida leader's head. He apparently did not realize that 12 cartoonists, not one, drew the drawings that have led to protests across the Muslim world. Earlier this month a Taliban commander in Afghanistan was reported as offering a bounty of 220 pounds of gold to anyone who killed a cartoonist who drew the pictures. The commander, Mullah Dadullah, also offered 12 pounds of gold to anyone who killed a Danish, Norwegian or German soldier. Protests over the cartoons have turned violent in several Pakistani cities this week and at least five people have died. Source: [MSNBC]

This is funny. These same guys have been screaming death to America for decades and have put bounty's on the heads of all kinds of Americans, yet they threaten a Dane and it sets you off. I agree with your premise that we have to confront this type of stuff, but the trigger you choose to voice outrage is hilarious. Forget that they burn replica's of our leaders and cheered on 9/11, but they want to kill a cartoonist. They must finally be serious! |

WW IV began several decades ago, with the founding of the Muslim Brotherhood. Three was the Cold War. Or, it started in the Seventy Century, with occasional pauses, and setbacks, such as at Vienna, and continues to date. jd |
